Lady Gaga Wants To Make A Movie

Lady Gaga’s desire to produce a musical film is either going to be a big, whopping success, or obliterate the craft of movie-making as we know it. Either way it’s going to be awesome watching this unique talent dip her hands into the movie ‘biz.

And while an acting/performance debut in tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl isn’t exactly honing your skills at the Public Theatre, Contactmusic.com reports that Lady Gaga is determined to pursue her dramatic ambitions further and has set her sights on a big-screen musical adventure.’

The Contactmusic.com item quotes a source who says of Gaga’s celluloid intentions:

“She sees acting as a natural progression in her career. “One idea she has is for a rock opera which would be a huge, big budget movie made to her own very unique ideas. But she is also keen on straight dramatic roles.

“She has the drive and confidence to make it big as an actress. It’s just a matter of finding time when she is not committed to her first love – music.”

This could get very interesting. There is no doubt that agents, producers and studio execs are all jamming together film ideas right this second that might fit into Gaga’s grand vision for her impending movie career.

According to People, tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl, titled “Last Days of Disco Stick” (an awfully annoying play on the excellent Whit Stillman film The Last Days of Disco) is all about Blair’s (Leighton Meester) need to impress her new classmates at New York University and gain notice in the social scene. So… guess what? She promises a private concert with Lady Gaga.

“It’s a little bit more of a fashion montage,” Gaga says of her performance on the show. “It’s very performance art.”

Gaga probably already had her sights set on a movie career, but perhaps her Gossip Girl experience just quickened the pace to get the 23-year-old singer to Hollywood. If they’re still shooting Sex and the City 2 the producers might want to think about squeezing Gaga in for a killer cameo. Just a thought….
