Whoever said the best things in life are free was right. One of the most influential musical acts of our time is The Clash, and according to StrangeGlue, the band’s founder Mick Jones is giving away free copies of his new album with his new band. The Carbon Bubble, was made available via the internet – cover artwork, booklet and all – on Saturday November 14th.

Check out the track listing below…

Jones and his group, Carbon/Silicon have been uploading albums to their website since 2006 at no cost, which is one of the many way’s they’ve managed to make a name for themselves. Here are the songs featured on their latest album…

  1. Fresh Start
  2. What’s Up Doc?
  3. Reach For The Sky
  4. The Best Man
  5. Unbelievable Pain
  6. Make It Alright
  7. PartyWorld
  8. Shadow
  9. Don’t Taser Me Bro!
  10. That’s As Good As It Gets
  11. DisUnited Kingdom
  12. Believe Or Leave

Don’t you just love the names of these songs? “What’s Up Doc?” and “Don’t Taser Me Bro!” stick out like sore thumbs. You’ve got to love the originality these guys have. Many people might find it ridiculous for the group to give a way music for free, but in a way that’s smart marketing. They’ve managed to develop a strong fan base, that loves them so much they’d be willing to pay to see them live, and everyone in the industry knows that’s where the real money comes from.
