Rogue Wave Announce New Album Release For 2010

Rogue Wave is one of those indie-rock bands you should probably be listening to if you aren’t already. They’re just good, simple as that.

The band from Oakland, CA will release their 4th studio album, Permalight, on March 2, 2010 from Brushfire Records. The album, produced by Dennis Herring (Counting Crows, Elvis Costello), was recorded at Sweet Tea Studios in Oxford, Mississippi.

Rogue Wave also announced a tour to coincide with the new album. Check below for the band’s 2010 tour dates.

Besides news of Rogue Wave’s new album, the PBS series Independent Lens has been airing the documentary D Tour, which follows Rogue Wave drummer Pat Spurgeon’s fight with kidney failure. Artists like Ben Gibbard, The Moore Brothers, Nada Surf and John Vanderslice also appear in the film.

Spurgeon was born with just one kidney, which began deteriorating when he was in junior high school. He received a kidney transplant, but after 12 years, just as Rogue Wave started to take off, that kidney begins to fail. D Tour follows Spurgeon’s search for a living organ donor and the challenges associated with finding a viable match.

Permalight is the follow-up to the band’s album Asleep at Heaven’s Gate, released in 2007.
