SXSW 2010 Announces First Round Of Bands For Lineup

We know it’s only November but SXSW has already given us a sneak peak of the lineup for SXSW2010! If you know anything about SXSW, you know know that Austin becomes  a massive swirl of music mania that you can easily get caught up in if you don’t plan accordingly!

So, to make sure you get off on the right foot, we’ll be giving you updates on what’s to come until it is actually here in April! SXSW’s music festival dates are March 17 – 21. If you don’t want to get burnt out right away, get ahead of everyone by checking the first six bands SXSW has officially announced as part of the festival’s roster out below!

• Barcelona, Spain-based band, Giulia y Los Tellarini: This band may be from Spain but the three-piece writes music that echos every corner of the world. You may have already heard of their name if you’ve checked out the soundtrack for Woody Allen’s film, Vicki, Cristina, Barcelona.

• Hermosillo, Mexico-based band, The Hong Kong Opera: These guys decided to go against the traditional popular music of Mexico and blend punk, post-rock and electronica.

• London, England-based band, Archie Bronson Outfit: Discovered by Laurence Bell of Domino Records, this English rock band is not a stranger to SXSW as they have played a showcase back in 2006.

• Melbourne, Australia-based band, The Temper Trap: Music fiends in the States may be most familiar with this band since their song, “Sweet Disposition” was featured on the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack. They were also one of our BeatCrave Favs!

• Vancouver, Canada-based band, Japandroids: This is a great garage rock band made up of only two members. They recently released their album, Post-Nothing, via Polyvinyl records.

• London, England-based band, CHEW LiPS: Another English band makes the lineup, but this trio focuses on dance-pop music that sometimes blends into techno.
