Didn’t the Arctic Monkeys just release an album this past summer? The answer is yes they did but according to BBC.co they’re already gearing up for their fourth studio release. The group’s third disc Humbug is still hot on shelves, and their currently on tour promoting it so why are they so eager to jump back into the studio?

Artic Monkeys drummer, Matt Helders spoke about what the band has in store for their future albums:

“We’re already talking about when we can record again, but I still enjoy being on tour as well. It’s good to have time to work stuff out, then at least you can start doing the quality control before and actually record what you think is decent, rather than recording hundreds of songs to then find out you only like 10 of them.”

With that statement we can all let out a sigh of relief. There would be nothing worse than the production of subpar material that was rushed through. It sounds like their excited to get back into the studio, but at the same time they want to do it right. It’s unclear as to when they’ll finally jump back into the recording saddle, so they’ll probably play this one by ear.

What do you think of a new Arctic Monkeys album? Should they wait a little longer?

I'm done for a new Arctic Monkeys album that doesn't sound like Queens of the Stone Age.
