Miley Cyrus Bus Crash Takes a Life
By Laura AguirreOne person was killed this morning when Miley Cyrus‘ tour bus crashed on an Interstate in rural Virginia, reports MTV. Virginia State Police said that Cyrus was not on the bus at the time of the crash, which was approximately around 8:15 a.m. Fans everywhere were shocked over the news when they thought that the pop star may have been on board, but that wasn’t the case.
It has been confirmed that the person killed was a male. A few sources have identified him as the bus driver, but a press release has yet to confirm that information. Another person suffered from minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. It is assumed that the tour production crew was on the bus, but police have yet to identify the passengers.
The bus overturned on Interstate 85, about 40 miles south of Richmond. Officials told TMZ that the roads were slick due to overnight rain (photos of the accident can be viewed at the site). Cyrus is set to play a show on Sunday in Greensboro, North Carolina. A statement by the 16-year-old singer has not been released. This was definitely a close call for Cyrus and her band.
