Was Adam Lambert Out Of Line With His AMA Performance?
By Seraphina L.
Ever since Adam Lambert displayed his goth-glam vocal chops during last season’s American Idol, fans have either been with him or against him. Although he was announced as the runner-up instead of the winner, the buzz around Lambert seems to have overshadowed Kris Allen. A prime example of this is portrayed by Kris Allen only presenting an award instead of performing a number at last night’s American Music Awards.
The chatter about Lambert’s closing performance even seemed to put him in front of Lady Gaga in terms of shock factor. When it finally came down to it, there was definitely many obvious performance visuals and actions deemed as shocking but his vocal performance of “For Your Entertainment” fell flat. Perhaps this is why the former American Idol contestant fell, groped a dancer, and made out with another male member on stage. Whatever his reasons may be, there were many who did not enjoy the number.
According to the Associated Press, ABC had gotten a number a complaint calls in regards to Adam Lambert and his S&M themed performance. With men crawling around in leashes and dancers placing their heads in not-so-proper places, conservative audience members from home called about many issues.
However, Lambert also tells the AP that he was just trying to break the double standard. Tons of female performers perform provocative numbers on national television, so why shouldn’t he be able to? We all remember the Britney-Madonna-Christina kiss. So was he really out of line with the closing number?
What do you think?

The AMA Awards was about as terrible as it could get. Most of the performances were disgusting, and way to suggestive for that time slot, there were a lot children watching this show. ABC should be ashamed of themselves. As a Grandparent I was horrified.
ABC OWES IT'S AUDIANCE A HUGE APOLOGY

Young teens and kids of all ages like music and like to see who wins. This time I believe it went to far. There is a time and place for everything , but during a show that all age groups watch , there should be some limits or warnings . This came with out any warning . A program I wants thought was safe and family minded, showed its truely far from that now.

Flash Forward of ABC had lesbian kissing in prime time. I thought Adam was the best performer of the night except that his pants were not tight enough. All of you prudes get lost.

Enough with the "prudes"…. been there, done that, seen that. His performance was just really bad, vocally and visually.
