Adam Lambert Dropped From Good Morning America

People are still talking about Adam Lambert’s provocative performance at Sunday’s American Music Awards and it’s starting to have a negative effect on his career. The singer was supposed to appear on ABC’s Good Morning America tomorrow but due to the backlash of his performance, he’s been dropped from the show.

According to the NYTimes, a spokesperson from the network made the announcement today regarding their decision not to have Lambert on the show.

“Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”

It sounds like ABC is trying to gain some brownie points with all those pissed off parents who wrote in after the AMAs. Lambert previously appeared on the show back in August, as well as the ABC program 20/20, where he openly discussed his sexuality in an interview.

This is an interesting turn for the network because their obviously trying to do damage control for the incident, which they claim shocked them as much as it did us. Oddly enough there are rumors that the CBS Early Show are interested in scooping him up after GMA dropped him.

Lambert’s performance may have been a bit much, but anyone with common sense would know not to do anything vulgar on a morning show. I’d like to think that he wouldn’t have gone that far with Diane Sawyer and the rest of the gang.
