sade returns Sade To Release New Album In February

Get ready all you Smooth Operators. Sade is back. The sweet-sounding English band, fronted by the sultry, R&B vocalist Sade Adu, has wrapped up its sixth studio album – Soldier of Love.

This is what bringing sexy back is really all about. Soldier of Love, Sade’s first official studio album since the multi-platinum release of Lovers Rock in 2000, will be released Feb. 8, 2010 from Epic Records. The album was recorded in England with longtime collaborator Mike Pela.

Fans are waiting patiently for further details about the music on Soldier of Love, but according to Billboard, smooth-as-hell vocalist Maxwell has heard early versions of several songs. It seems he sent a message to fans back in March via his private Facebook page. “Trust me, it’s so monolithic it’ll shake you in your shoes!” he wrote.

Good enough for me! There’s ‘highly anticipated’ when it comes to an upcoming album, and then there’s a ten-year wait for Sade to return with a new collection of prime, gettin’ down and gettin’ naughty music. Finally time to update that trusty ’sex music’ mixtape.

Sade Adu is now 50-years-old. 50! And she looks amazing. Doesn’t it just seem like yesterday (for those of us who remember 1984) that Sade released their debut album, Diamond Life? Since then, the band has seen all five of their studio albums land in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart – selling a total of more than 50 million albums worldwide to date.

What’s great about the Soldier of Love album is that it re-teams Sade Adu with longtime bandmates, like Stuart Matthewman (a.k.a. Cottonbelly), Paul Spencer Denman and Andrew Hale.

Very happy about the new Sade. The Quiet Storm has returned.

Are you excited about the return of Sade?
