The Thermals Start Working On New Album
By Seraphina L.
Despite just releasing their album, Now We Can See, in April, Portland, Oregon-based indie-punk band, The Thermals, have already begun working on a new album. They’ve even gone as far setting a release date of September 7, 2010!
This news is fine by us since we were lucky enough to catch their performance at this summer’s FYF Fest. Rocking out in a swirl of dust and teenage moshing, this trio brings listeners infectious songs with a punk foundation while injecting healthy dose of pop into their sound as well. More info after the jump!
According to Pitchfork, The Thermals will be heading to Portland’s Jackpot Studios next month to start piecing the album together. They’ll be reuniting with Death Cab For Cutie‘s Chris Walla again since they all worked so well together on the band’s first and second records. Wall will serve as producer and new drummer, Westin Glass, will be making his debut on this recording.
Will the new album sound as good as their previous four albums since they are rushing into this one? Whatever the consequence is, we suppose we’re just lucky that The Thermals consistenly continue to give the fans what they want – new music!
