Local Natives Sign To Frenchkiss Records

Los Angeles favorites, Local Natives, have been busy on their NME tour all over the UK and Europe for the past couple of months. However, we finally have some great news for US fans. Local Natives has been signed to US label, Frenchkiss Records! They’ll be joining a worthy roster which includes The Antlers, Passion Pit, The Dodos and more.
If you’ve been following Local Natives on BeatCrave through our Know Your LA Bands series, BeatCrave Fav series, concert reviews and more – you are most likely rejoicing with us! After pining for a US release of their debut full-length, Gorilla Manor, it looks like we’ll finally be able to get our hands on a copy Stateside in just a few months. More info after the jump!
According to Pitchfork and Local Natives themselves, Gorilla Manor will be released in the US via Frenchkiss on Feberuary 16, 2010. It has already been released in the UK on November 2 through Infectious.
There will be no need to track down random recordings of the guys who have no shame in heavy love for percussion and harmonies. Although… their live sessions on Aquarium Drunkard and Daytrotter are certainly exceptions. Come February, you’ll be able to have all your favorite Local Natives tracks on a real album along with a few new songs. Check out the UK tracklist below:
- Wide Eyes
- Airplanes
- Sun Hands
- World News
- Shape Shifter
- Camera Talk
- Cards and Quarters
- Warning Sign
- Who Knows Who Cares
- Cusbism Dream
- Stranger Things
- Sticky Thread
If the US release has the same tracklisting, we can’t say we wouldn’t be satisfied. However, if they decide to add anything, it’ll be interesting to see what other indie rock tunes they can entice new followers with. Until then, check out this online video for “Camera Talk.”
Are you excited for February 16?
