Pete Doherty Kicked Out For Nazi Anthem
By Krystal Clark
Pete Doherty really knows how to piss people off. The British rocker has found himself in the news again thanks to one of his many off the wall performances. According to ConsequenceofSound, Doherty was kicked out of a recent concert due to his song of choice, and by song I mean the Nazi anthem.
While on stage at Munich’s On3 Festival, Doherty became the victim of an onslaught of boos from the crowd. The reason behind this lack of love was due to the material the singer decided to recite. He began singing the Nazi national anthem and soon found himself being whisked away by security.
According to Festival organizer Bayerischer Rundfunk, “We decided to stop Peter Doherty’s appearance on stage as quickly as possible. The live radio broadcast was cut immediately.”
If that wasn’t enough there’s actual video evidence of the whole thing going down. Doherty sang the first verse of “Song of Germany”, which was used by the Nazis during their occupation of the country. These days Germans only use the third verse as their national song. We get it Pete, you hate all forms of government, but do you have to be such a douche about it?
