From music blog network to streaming music business. MOG has launched MOG All Access, the $5 a month digital music service with access to 6 million songs; the service features a social-networking angle with a variety of music discovery and sharing tools, plus the opportunity to check out news and reviews, playlists and lyrics.

Check below for a video detailing MOG’s new All Access.

Boldly hailed by the MOG team as ‘Better Than Rhapsody, Pandora and iTunes… Combined,’ the robust MOG All Access features an on-demand service that lets members store their music in the cloud with no need to download a client application to the desktop.

Subscribers can log in to their account from any browser to access the above-mentioned six million songs via licensing partnerships with four major music labels – Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI Music.

“MOG All Access was created by music lovers for music lovers,” said David Hyman, founder and CEO of MOG.

“Our goal is to offer the best experience for listening, sharing and discovering music by creating a simple, smart, intuitive interface. The labels recognized the value of what we were doing and were supportive from the beginning. Now, we’re excited to deliver this to music fans everywhere.”

Heyman, who launched the Berkeley, Calif.-based MOG back in 2005, said the next step will be to maximize availability of the service through a variety of distribution points. According to Hyman, the team has already begun meeting with carriers and ISPs to discuss partnerships.

Key features to the new MOG All Access includes:

  • On-Demand: With MOG’s Fastsearch, users can quickly listen to any artist, album, or song within seconds – without having to surf web pages. MOG provides a vast library of songs that ranges from the very popular to the most obscure tunes. Test it out with something hard to find.
  • Radio – Simply type in a song, band or album that suits your mood. To expand the selection, just slide the slider from “Artist Only” to “Similar Artists” and MOG’s music recommendation algorithm will quickly fill the queue with recommended tunes. If you like a song you are hearing, simply click “Save” and any song on the radio will be stored in your library.
  • Discovery – Browse the public playlists to find out what everybody else is enjoying. MOG uses an algorithm to identify and highlight the most popular and most played lists. Editorial content accessed through the MOG.com blog network is also available.

With all the high praise thus far, the new MOG endeavor could provide a big shake-up in the online music service sector. MOG All Access is also planning a launch in Europe next year; mobile applications are also scheduled for release in early 2010.
