Kasabian Will Headline T In The Park 2010

Kasabian have been selected as one of three headliners for next year’s T In The Park festival, which takes place in Scotland on July 9-11. The rockers from Leicester last played the event in 2007 when they appeared on the Radio 1/NME Stage.

Geoff Ellis from DF Concerts noted that it was Kasabian’s reputation as a kick-ass live band that helped them land the a headline slot.

“I’m chuffed to bits that we can announce one of our headliners this early on,” he said. “Kasabian blow me away every time I see them and they’re going to be amazing headliners. We’ve had lots of fans tell us they want to see Kasabian headline T In The Park so it’s great to be able to give them an early Christmas present!”

Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan is also jazzed about the headline announcement. He released a statement for the band that read:

“T In The Park holds a special place in our hearts. We’ve always said how much we’d love to headline it and now we are. We can’t wait, we’re going to play a blinder and it’s going to be massive for us and for the crowd.”

Last year’s festival drew 85,000-plus there to see headliners Blur, Kings of Leon, the Killers and Franz Ferdinand. The 2010 edition at Balado in Kinross-shire is shaping up to be a highlight of next year’s busy, festival schedule.

A limited number of early bird tickets for T In The Park 2010 go on sale tomorrow (December 4) at 9am (GMT).
