Adam Lambert is still feeling the burn after his raunchy performance at this year’s American Music Awards. He became the focus of an onslaught of bad press, which caused ABC to cancel his performance on their series Good Morning America, but it doesn’t stop there. The network has decided to cut the singer from two more upcoming appearances.

ABC has dropped Lambert from the performance roster of their 2010 New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special. He was one of the many potentials lined up to appear on the show, but that’s no longer the case. He also got the boot from an upcoming episode of the late night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, a decision the network stands by.

Ever since his controversial AMA performance several family-faith based organizations have been protesting his music. One of the groups, The Liberty Counsel is pushing for the FCC to fine ABC for allowing Lambert’s award performance to air on the network. Even though Kimmel’s show airs well after the 10pm FCC cut off point, they still don’t trust him taking the stage.

According to Matt Barber, Liberty Counsel’s director of cultural affairs, Lambert’s AMA performance aired at 9:55 p.m. Central Standard Time and may have been seen by children and teenagers. ABC refuses to give any statement regarding their decision to pull the singer from two more shows, yet he’ll still appear on the Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 special that’s set to air at 10 pm.

Does anyone else think his performance is coming back to bite him in the ass? You knew there would be some repercussions, but not to this extent.

What do you think of ABC’s decision to remove Lambert from two more shows?
