Pamela Anderson To Release Pop Song

For those who think the music scene is boring and totally devoid of anything worth listening to – say hello to Pamela Anderson, pop star. The former Baywatch bombshell is preparing to release a song called “High,” which is about the wild and sexy world of fashion. Anderson collaborated on the song with her clothing designer/musician friend Richie Rich.

Rich spoke to the New York Post about the new track:

“We are recording a pop single together. Pamela says she wants to sing, but nothing too difficult, so she’s just going to sing the word ‘high’ over and over.”

What? You were expecting a reinterpretation of Sarah Vaughn tunes?

Not sure if repeating the same word over and over and over again is going to bring home any Grammy nominations in the near future, but it’s a start. Question: will Anderson actually sing the word “high” repeatedly, or will she sing it once and have the producer play it in a loop? I mean, are we talking about various intonations of the word ‘high,’ or identical readings of the same word heard throughout the whole song?

This is the type of stuff music folks need to know.

Along with the musical endeavor, Anderson and Rich are debuting a clothing line known as A*Muse. Anderson plans to show off the new fashion line during New York Fashion Week in February. To add to the drama/excitement, Anderson’s ex-husband, Tommy Lee, will serve as DJ for the A*Muse fashion show.

This “High” pop single business could be a one-shot deal. At this point, segueing from actress-model-celeb to singer makes sense for Anderson, an absolute pillar of global pop culture. I’m surprised she hasn’t gone the music route sooner, what with the connections to Kid Rock and Tommy Lee.

Without having heard the single it’s tough to offer a proper critique of Pamela Anderson, Pop Singer. But if Scarlett Johansson can cover Tom Waits and work with Pete Yorn then there’s absolutely a place for Pamela Anderson in the world of music.
