Rivers Cuomo Hospitalized After Bus Accident
By Seraphina L.
Frontman, Rivers Cuomo, of Weezer has been taken to the hospital after his tour bus skidded off the road in New York early this morning. According to Rolling Stone (via Uticod.com and CNN), the bus was on the New York State Thruway when the accident occurred after a light snowstorm. The tour bus had slipped on some fresh ice, gone over a guardrail and eventually landed in a ditch.
Cuomos and his assistant were both injured with the singer specifically saying he had rib pain. Cuomos’ wife, daughter, and another passenger were also on the bus but were not hurt.
It seems like a lot of tour bus accidents have been happening lately with Grizzly Bear and Miley Cyrus (whose accident actually took a person’s life). Travel safety should not be taken lightly and with the winter just starting, weather conditions in the north and east should only make drivers become more cautious.
We hope Cuomos and his assistant get well very soon because the man has got tons of work to finish. Plus, Weezer still has to round up their last December dates on December 9 and 10 before they head back to the west coast on January 9. No cancellation announcements have been made yet, but since they are also scheduled for a show tomorrow night on Monday, we’ll do our best to keep you updated.
Were you planning on attending any of the shows left in December?
