Bonnaroo Gives You The Chance To Book Your Favorite Band

Remember when we posted our first announcements of Bonnaroo dates along with that quirky video song? Well, it turns out that Bonnaroo song wasn’t just promotion. It’s part of an awesome contest. This year, Bonnaroo is giving all contestants the chance, key word – chance, to book their favorite band at Bonnaroo!

No, you don’t have to be in the music business to do so. If you’re wondering how you can do such a task all by your lonesome, we’ve got all the details for you after the jump. Everything has to do with that video we showed you last time!

Although the annual festival in Tennessee is known for booking great bands who are both indie and mainstream, they want to emphasize that they understand everyone is always discovering great new bands and feel the need to share the knowledge. So, they’ve created a contest where you share it with the entire Bonnaroo audience!

Here is how you can enter the contest:

• Answer the questions below
• Submit your answers along with a testimonial in 25 words or less on why YOU should be allowed to book a band at Bonnaroo.com

The Questions

• How many bobbleheads appear in the video?
• What is the meaning of “Bonnaroo“? (hint: it’s written in the clouds)
• How many times does Gary Chardonnay say “Bonnaroo“?
• What recent (ridiculous!) news scandal is touched upon in the video?
• You also have to give a testimonial which explains why you should be the one booking a band (25 words or less)

What You Will Win

• One Grand Prize winner will get to book an artist at the 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
• One hundred other contestants will receive the Bonnaroo 2010 calendar as seen in the video.
• The winners will be selected by our Bonnaroo judges from all correct entries combined with the most convincing “why me?” testimonials – so that means everyone has a shot!

When and How You’ll Be Notified If You Win

• The Grand Prize winner will be announced on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010.
• The winner will be contacted by one or more of the Bonnaroo booking team and will take part in a “booking call” about the festival.
• The winner will then work with the Bonnaroo booking team to select an act to play the festival.
• The winner will be expected to focus on either a favorite local/regional act from their area or a relatively new artist just achieving major recognition.

The act selected will have to meet the following criteria:

• The band/artist has to have been together for at least one year with a track record of regular live performances to audiences of at least 200-300 regularly.
• The band/artist has to have at least one CD that has been released for at least 6 months prior to selection.
• The band/artist must not have more than one CD released on a nationally recognized recording label.
• The winner may not be a member or manager of the band, nor can the winner be a music industry professional.

Now, that may seem like a lot of rules to follow, but the prize is more than rewarding if you actually win. It’ll be your 15 minutes of fame when you can tell people YOU were the one who booked whatever awesome band you LOVE.
