Michael Jackson To Receive Lifetime Achievement Grammy

Many people weren’t surprised when Michael Jackson had been a front-runner for both the MTV Video Music Awards and American Music Awards in regards to nominations. Sadness still lingers in many fans’ hearts after his death in June and the music industry feels it is imperative to tell Jackson’s family how much they appreciate all of the pop star’s past contributions.
The Grammy Awards is one of the biggest nights in music, and they definitely aren’t forgetting to honor the pop star. According to Reuters, Michael Jackson will be receiving their a posthumous award for lifetime achievement along with six other artists.
Jackson’s acknowledgement from the Grammys have included 13 wins in the past. Of course, his music also acquired 17 No. 1 singles along with the maintaining the record for best-selling record of all time with his album, Thriller.
Others who will receive the award include Leonard Cohen, blues musician David “Honeyboy” Edwards, country star Loretta Lynn, pianist Andre Previn, fluegelhorn player Clark Terry and the late singer Bobby Darin.
The Lifetime Achievement Grammy award will be handed out privately at a ceremony on January 30th, just a day before the Grammys take place. The Recording Academy, the folks behind the Grammy Awards, will be presenting these prestigious awards themselves.
Winners in the past include Frank Sinatra, Smokey Robinson, B.B. King and Bob Dylan.

I think it is fabulous Michael Jackson is receiving this award. If anyone in this world deserves the award it is Michael Jackson. I know there is alot more awards he deserves out there too. I love you Michael forever and ever you will live in my heart. Kathy from Texas

PERFECT!!! I am so very happy. as much as his death has weighed on my heart to this day, I can't think of anyone who deserves this honor more. I was dissappointed when he did not get the top honor at the AMA's because he definitly should have received that award after all of the decades of work he blessed us with to the day he died. THIS IS IT was the most magnificent tribute to him and for us. I am glad at least this award will go to the RIGHT ENTERTAINER, MICHAEL JACKSON!!!!!

Michael Jackson deserves this. Unlike the way he was robbed from getting the top honors at the AMA. Most people couldn't believe what happened on that night. Even the STARS on the red carpet knew that Michael should have swept those awards. After entertaining the world for decades he will get HONORED at the award show that really count. All of a sudden thanks to the stupidity of Kanyee West it has become Taylor Swift all the time. Most people 25 and over had never heard of this girl but now all of a sudden she's better than Michael Jackson. PLEEEEEZE
