Coachella 2010 Dates Confirmed, Continues Layaway, Offers Car Camping

Kids like to say “Duck, duck goose” and we like to say “Rumor, rumor, fact.” In regards to Coachella 2010, we were right on the money when it came to the dates. A week before the country Coachella (Stagecoach), Coachella 2010 will open the grounds of Indio, California to music lovers, their RVs, their tents, and beer bellies on April 16 – 18, 2010.

Of course, we have a few hunches on who will show up in Coachella’s lineup, but according to Billboard, the bands won’t be revealed until early next year. They predict Muse, Pavement, Hot Chip and Devo. We predict Pavement as well along with The Raveonettes, Thom Yorke, Jack White… and how about Arcade Fire?

Also, in case you are afraid you won’t be able to drop $269 all at once on tickets, Coachella is offering layaway once again according to their official statement. If you opt to pay by layaway, you have two options:

First you can put a down payment down that is 50% along with additional fees then have them take the other 50% from you via credit card during the first week of March. These payments can only be made online. Secondly, you can pay with three installments. You can pay 10% plus additional ticking feeds, then have them charge your credit card again in the last week of February and again in the last week of March. It’s not so bad if you think about it. The biggest party in the desert can be really worth it.

In addition to changes in layaway plans, Coachella has also offered to make it easier for you to spend the night on the campgrounds. Don’t have a tent? Don’t have an RV? That’s okay. Now you can pay to park your car in a 10X30 space, but this space has to include both your car and your tent. It may seem a bit odd and a bit smaller than an RV or a hotel room, but the advantage you get along with this option is that you can have as many people as you want to stay in the car. You’ll also be able to walk in and out of the festival with your car parked in this spot. Key word though: Car. (Singular.)

We say these can only be changes for the better and if they’re not, Pavement will cure any bad feeling. That is, IF Pavement is playing.
