Ryan Gosling Film to Feature Grizzly Bear Soundtrack

Grizzly Bear is (by a considerable amount) one of the best bands making music today. After collaborating with Beirut and opening for Radiohead in 2008, Grizzly Bear was on the map and headed for success — today, all of their hard work paid off. Consequence of Sound reports that Grizzly Bear will be featured in an upcoming romantic drama titled Blue Valentine, starring Ryan Gosling.

Many legit bands take this route, of making soundtracks for movies. For those of us who love film and music, there is nothing better than a great film with an amazing soundtrack. Grizzly Bear will add on to the list of indie bands making music for the film industry such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, and Cold War Kids.

The film, about the evolution story of an American marriage, was recently announced in the Sundance 2010 Competition Lineup.

In regards to Blue Valentine, it feels like there could be no better band than Grizzly Bear to make its music; front-man Ed Droste is known for his perfect falsetto vocals that bring a sense of romanticism like no other.

What do you think of Grizzly Bear’s recent success?
