Brian Setzer Out Of The Hospital And Back On Tour
By Jeffrey Hyatt
Former Stray Cats lead singer Brian Setzer was unable to finish a concert Monday night in Albuquerque and then rushed to a local hospital. An announcement posted on Setzer’s website Tuesday said “a combination of dehydration, high altitude and vertigo made him unable to continue his performance at the Isleta Casino after several songs.”
The good news is that Setzer has recovered quickly and that the rest of the tour would continue as scheduled. The Rockabilly continues.
According to UPI, Setzer and his big-band orchestra performed three Christmas-themed songs Monday night during the sold-out show right before collapsing and had to be helped off stage. Those Christmas songs can get quite nauseating. Just sayin’!
An announcer showed up at about 9pm to say the 50-year-old Setzer was not feeling well and taken to the hospital. The big band did play one more tune after Setzer left the stage. Too bad Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom weren’t there to fill in for their fellow Stray Cat. That would have been cool.
The Albuquerque Journal reports that concert goers can get a full refund and have two weeks to collect it.
