Pixies Members Ask You To Rewrite Their Songs

Do you consider the Pixies to be one of your favorite bands? Do you especially adore the musicianship of members, David Lovering and Joey Santiago? Then we’ve got great news for you. Your dream of collaborating with some of your favorite musicians is within reach.

Lovering and Santiago of the Pixies recently teamed up under the moniker, The Everybody, and put out an album titled Avatar. (Perfect timing, right?) They are offering it in three different formats: Mp3, Expanded Lossless, and Deluxe Edition. That may be exciting for your convenience but that’s not even the cool part! According to Consequence of Sound, they are planning on releasing a vinyl album release in Spring 2010, and they want to submit your renditions on second side! More info after the jump…

According to their website, here is what they’re offering:

Mp3 Version: $4

• The nine song album in 320kbps MP3 format
• An iTunes LP digital package including album artwork and mixing faders

Expanded Lossless: $10

• The nine song album in Apple Lossless or FLAC format, plus a copy in 320kbps MP3 format
• Two bonus songs in Apple Lossless or FLAC format, plus an MP3 copy
• An iTunes LP digital package including album artwork and mixing faders

Deluxe Edition: $40

• The nine song album in Apple Lossless or FLAC format, plus a copy in 320kbps MP3 format
• Two bonus songs in Apple Lossless or FLAC format, plus an MP3 copy
• An iTunes LP digital package including video and mixing faders
• Complete Royalty-Free Stems in WAV format, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License
• The legal right to create new songs and mixes from these stems and sell them (yes, royalty-free!)
• The opportunity to submit your creations from these stems back to Joey and David, for inclusion on The Everybody Else, the second side of a gatefold vinyl album release planned for Spring 2010. David and Joey are The Everybody. The artists who create new work with these stems are Everybody Else.

The $40 bucks may be worth it for your 15 minutes of fame. Remix, rewrite, reinterpret and audition for Lovering and Santiago and YOUR song could be featured on that vinyl come Spring 2010.
