Adam Lambert Lands New Year’s Eve Gig
By Krystal Clark
After his American Music Awards performance, Adam Lambert has been receiving the cold shoulder from everything ABC and Disney related. This includes his ill-fated non-appearance on the network’s annual countdown special, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.” According to MTV, that’s all in the past because the former “American Idol” finalist will be front and center at one of the most popular live shows celebrating the new year.
Lambert will be performing at the annual Gridlock New Year’s Eve concert in Los Angeles, California (take that ABC!). The show will be hosted by eternal party girl Pamela Anderson, with Lambert billed as the headlining act. He’s slated to perform at the stroke of midnight at the event that will take place on the Paramount Pictures Studio Backlot. Kevin Rudolph is also slated to perform at the show, which will ironically have a New York-theme. I guess nothing beats the feeling of being in Time Square when the ball drops.
Lambert is one of the many must see performers this year, along side collaborator Lady Gaga who’ll hit the stage on the opposite side of the country. Gaga will be playing at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, which is currently the hottest New Year’s Eve ticket. Prices for the show have been rumored to range from $425 to $25,000. It must be nice to have that type of money to spend on one performance.
Who do you think will put on the better show, Lambert or Gaga?

No freaking way would I pay that much money to see Lady Gaga. I also think freezing my tail off in New York to hear Allison play 2 or even 3 songs is crazy. She is having to like compete with so many other artists that night. We are going to Gridlock and dance to Adam Lambert for 40 minutes while mingling with the Paramount Boys on our NYEs. And this party is going to last until the morning!

LMAO!!! Take that ABC!! It's a much, much better gig for Lambert. He get's to do 10 songs all his own way. It's a massive crowd and it's the biggest single party going. The $3,500 tickets sold out in a few days. Those are the tickets for front of the stage. It's one happening party. Open bar 9:00pm to 2am. Kevin Rudolf is singing too!! Gridlock Hollywood!! Yeah!! Myself and my husband are flying in for it. I can't wait!! Warm weather, live crowd, Adam Lambert, Open Bar. It's a party!!

While I'm sure Gaga will be putting on a terrific show, I'm flying into LA for the most exciting New Year's Eve party I can imagine…Adam's first non Idol related concert. It just can't get much better than that. Looking forward to a fabulous time!

My pick would be the Gridlock party (if I wasn’t stuck working the day of and one day after) because the price sounds pretty darned good for what you get. $150 and an open bar PLUS Adam doing a 40 min. set? Wow! I am SO jealous of anyone going to that show.

Adam Lambert FTW! Got my VIP ticket for Gridlock. BTW Ginger, the temps will be in the low to mid 40s so not quite as warm as you think it will be

Please, please bring your cameras folks! Record Adam for us poor folk on the east coast who just can't be there in person! I'd see Adam any day over Lady Gaga!

Lady Gaga is an amazing performer, Adam loves her, i like her too -her voice is amazing but i just do not appreciate much how she performs. I'd love to watch Adam a million times over.

Have no doubt Lambert will put on an amazing show. Am going to be home this year, so disappointed personally to not be able to view a Lambert performance, but happy for him – this Gridlock venue will be great (and fun) for him I imagine. And yes, people who are attending – put whatever footage you can up on web – I'll be surfing for it on Jan 1st I assure you! ABC – offer up your vanilla tweens and cross promotion for Disney – I am one household who'll not be watching…and from what I read on the internet, I'm far from solo in my thinking! Advertisers take note.

Yes advertisers take note…I WOULD have watched Rockin' NYE IF Adam had been on…NOT now. I hope SOMEONE will be filming for YouTube, and even better, a professional filming for a DVD to be sold afterwards. To benefit Red Cross would be awesome and I would pay big $$ to have this HUGE/HISTORIC Lambert performance!
