The Rev From Avenged Sevenfold Died

This past week has been a horrible time for the entertainment industry. First, the unexpected death of actress Brittany Murphy and now The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold has also passed away. The Rev aka Jimmy Sullivan was the drummer of the popular rock band, and news just broke of his unexpected death.

According to the Huffington Post, Sullivan was found unconscious and unresponsive at his home in Huntington Beach, California. Lt. John Domingo of the Huntington Beach Police Department says the death appeared to be from natural causes. An autopsy is expected to be performed today to examine his body and see if any other influences were behind his death. The drummer was only 28 years old and to die at such a young age of natural causes is rare.

A note has been posted on Avenged Sevenfold’s official Facebook page regarding Sullivan’s death, and here’s what his fellow band members had to say.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy’s family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Jimmy you are forever in our hearts.
We love you.
