Lil’ Wayne Bids Farewell Before Prison Stint

Grammy winning rapper, Lil’ Wayne is taking all the necessary steps to prepare for his upcoming bid in prison. The rapper plead guilty back in October to a weapons possession charge and will be sentenced on February 9th. Following in the footsteps of T.I, he’ll serve a one year stint behind bars, and recently performed a farewell show in his native New Orleans where he gave a heartfelt goodbye to fans.
While onstage Wayne shouted to the audience, “I’m nothing without you,” before bursting into a rendition of his hit song “A Milli.” The 27 year old rapper, whose government name is Dwayne Carter has had a rocky year full of highs and lows. He performed at the Grammys alongside some of the top artists in his genre including Jay-Z, T.I. and Kanye West and also took home an award or two. He also saw the birth of two of his four children within months of each other, which also added some positivity to this year.
All that was intermixed with several run ins with the law, that not only covered the illegal weapons bust, but several drug possession charges. Although his plea bargain covers the weapons charge, he still has several open cases in other states to tend to. Here’s some of the footage from his Farewell concert.
