Third Man Records is kicking off 2010 with the release of two new singles, plus demo recordings from The Dead Weather’s studio sessions last month. The new singles include Jack White-produced tracks from Wanda Jackson and a new, all-female rock band known as The Black Belles – both will be available on vinyl and iTunes January 26th.

It was back in November we reported that Jack White was hooking up with Wanda Jackson, the “Queen of Rockabilly,” to produce her new album.

The rockabilly legend’s debut single will feature a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” and Johnny Kidd and the Pirates’ “Shakin’ All Over.”

White has already found critical and creative success producing an artist outside his usual comfort zone; in 2004 White collaborated with country music legend Loretta Lynn on her excellent album Van Lear Rose.

The other new music by The Black Belles, a band discovered by White, will debut the tunes “What Can I Do” and “Lies” from their debut release. Third Man says of the band’s debut release as capturing “a modern twist to a sound heavily rooted in the soul and garage rock of the 60’s.”

Third Man Records’ Vault subscription service is where fans can find the Dead Weather demos “No Horse” and “Jawbreaker.” The singles will not be released anywhere else.
