Yellow Submarine Finds Actors To Portray Beatles
By Seraphina L.Earlier in the year, our sister site ScreenCrave brought the remake of Yellow Submarine, to our attention. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the animated film will be starring the Fab Four once again for our generation who are spoiled with lavish films in conjunction with Walt Disney Studios and Apple Corp. Ltd.
It was back in August when this news was something to be excited about. Now, we have a few more details on the production. Who will be playing the Beatles in this highly anticipated remake? More info after the jump!
The animated film will be using the music of the Beatles through their extensive catalog (which is a bit surprising), but will feature four new Brits as the characters’ voices. According to The Hollywood Report (via Reuters), actors who are in negotiation to play the Beatles are Cary Elwes, Dean Lennox Kelly, Peter Serafinowicz and Adam Campbell.
Kelly of BBC’s “Robin Hood” series will be playing John Lennon, Serefinowciz of Shaun of the Dead and Couples Retreat will be playing Paul McCartney, Elwes of Zemeckis’ recent film, A Christmas Carol, will be playing George Harrisson, and Campbell of Epic Movie, Date Movie and NBC miniseries “Day One” will be playing Ringo Starr.
If you’ve seen Zemeckis’ A Christmas Carol, you would know that he is a big fan of the popular comeback of 3-D visuals. Since he also wrote this screenplay, you can also count on him adding those effects into this film – but will it come off as psychedelic or cheesy?
What do you think of the actors Zemeckis has found for Yellow Submarine?
