Jessica Simpson and Billy Corgan Hook Up In The Studio
By Seraphina L.
Jessica Simpson and Billy Corgan is one of the oddest pairings we’ve heard of yet – maybe ever. Whether the two are romantically linked or not, that’s none of our business (although a source has supposedly told E! that Jessica was smitten). We’d like to focus on the idea of this musical collaboration. Is this really happening?
Rumors started to surface about the team-up when a photo of Simpson, Corgan and producer Kerry Brown appeared online. We were aware of Corgan knocking out the lengthy album, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, as well as starting his own record label but is this studio collaboration for his album or – dare we even think it – Simpson’s album?
We may not be able to distinguish whose album their collaboration will show up on, but we do have confirmation from Ms. Simpson herself in regards to the team-up. She recently tweeted, “I am blessed . . . going over a song w @billy and the boxer.” Let’s see… Photos with Corgan in the studio, photos with Corgan out together in New York City (according to NY Daily News), and “going over a song” together? If they’re not romantically linked, we at least know this musical pairing is happening whether or not either of their fans like it.
Oh, how sweet it s to look back and remember how obsessed we were with The Smashing Pumpkins as teenagers. Or is it? It’s a shame that the band is now just Corgan and a 19 year old drummer and even worse – having the front man hooking up (musically!) with a pop singer whose fame came mostly from a reality TV show with her ex. We’re not completely putting Simpson down. She’s shown some major talent as a young pop star in the beginning, but somehow her vocal chops have dwindled after resorting to ear-aching switches between yelling (there is a difference between yelling loud and belting a note out) and breathy Britney vocals.
It is an unlikely team-up, but perhaps Corgan’s need to feed his ego with a hot girl will benefit Simpson as an artist in the long run. What do you think?

Billy will bring out the best in her. She can sing and he knows how to write great songs. Now we will just have to wait and see.

Bing Crosby and David Bowie was way wierder, especially given the era.

First of all, Jessica Simpson was a house hold name long before her shi**y reality series came along.
I've been a DJ since 1999, and Jessica has always landed in the top 5 musical females list among
teens in a 5 year radius, way long before the Newlywed show came along. Does that mean i like her
music ? Some, Yes! Most of it, No ! But, this collab can really go somewhere if they use wisdom,
and skill and not just their names and excitement to do it. Entering new relationship can be exciting,
but I'm sick of rocker guys who get their head in the clouds when a girl comes around, and then the
music starts getting shi**y. I've been in bands and i've seen this happen way too much.
The girl comes along and starts writing songs, changing lyrics, wanting to play the flute, recorder, bass, until the rocker guy get's tired of her, then tries to blame her later for making his music suck.
Let's hope this collab, as bizarre as it is, will be cool. I'm hopeful, but certainly not expecting.
If Billy is hiring a 19 year old drummer, he might as well change the name of the band and start fresh.
Smashing Pumpkins were supposed to have retired already. I'm wondering if Billy is going to make
this group a wannabe "Paramore meets MCR ( His imitators )".
If he actually thinks Jessica is that great, throw her a55 in the band too. lol. Something tells me that won't happen, because this is a temporary state of euphoria, awe love..

I have to say…the pairing is odd, but the comments about the Pumpkins and the new drummer are uncalled for. I've been bored by the Pumpkins for YEARS and YEARS, but I checked out their new free single, Song for a Son, and I was blown away. Google it and get it for free. It's one of the best things they've ever done and it doesn't sound like just another Pumpkins track that's stuck in the 90s.

Being a Pumpkins fan for a long time and think of Billy as my hero, i am proud to say that i am no longer a fan of the NEW Billy Corgan or the Smashing Pumpkins anymore. Billy, what in the world are you thinking???????? This relationship won't last, poor Jessica. Just give up while you can.
