George Clooney‘s calendar is on-lock these days and with good reason. Last night the actor graced the Beverly Hilton Hotel with his presence at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards and now he’s getting ready for the “Hope for Haiti” benefit.

On Sunday, Clooney told the Associated Press at the Golden Globes ceremony that more than 40 celebrities are expected to attend the benefit on January 22.

“['Hope for Haiti' is] to show the people of Haiti that the whole world is paying attention.”

Among the performers attending are Bono, Sting, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys. “Hope for Haiti” will be hosted by both Clooney and Haiti-native Wyclef Jean in New York. The benefit will be broadcast on more than a dozen television networks.

Benefits will go to the Red Cross, UNICEF, Oxfam America, Partners in Health and Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation.

Last night at the Globes, during Jason Reitman‘s acceptance speech for Best Screenplay, he pointed out that Clooney would much rather be helping out the people of Haiti than be at an awards show. We couldn’t agree more Jason.
