Wolf Parade Back Together For Tour Of Canada
By Jeffrey HyattWell, it’s more like a mini-tour, but it’s very still welcome news that a batch of shows for Montreal indie-rockers Wolf Parade have been announced; the 5-city tour gets underway just about a year after the band decided to take a hiatus.
There’s talk over at a Wolf Parade fansite that the mini-tour has been set up to promote a new album, the band’s third, which could see the light of day this spring. But we shall see.
“Are we broken up? No. But we did call for a one year break on Wolf Parade,” explained keyboardist Spencer Krug recently to CBC Radio 3. “We don’t want to be a ‘work band’. If we made albums just for the sake of making albums they wouldn’t be any good. We’ll all get back together in a room in a year or so.”
The band’s as-yet-untitled album will be the follow-up to 2008′s At Mount Zoomer.
Krug and band mate Dan Boeckner have spent their non-Wolf Parade time on side projects Sunset Rubdown and Handsome Furs, respectively.
After the Canada shows Wolf Parade head to Europe in May for more touring.
