Carrie Underwood Will Sing National Anthem at Super Bowl
By Laura AguirreAmerican Idol is on a roll! Last year, Jennifer Hudson sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl, and the year before the young Jordin Sparks wowed everyone with her incredible version of the national anthem. This year, Carrie Underwood will be singing her version at the Super Bowl — but the country singer won’t be alone, Queen Latifah will also be performing America the Beautiful.
At just 26-years-old, the country singer will join the pool of women who have performed the national anthem at the Superbowl such as Beyonce, Whitney Houston, The Dixie Chicks, and Mariah Carey (not to mention the list of former American Idol women who have already sang praises to America at previous Super Bowls). Good for her.
This year’s Super Bowl will be aired on CBS on February 7th, where the Indianapolis Colts will take on the New Orleans Saints. Legendary rock band, The Who, will perform the half-time show. Underwood, Queen Latifah, football and The Who? Get your chips, dip, and beer ready because it can’t get any better than this.
