i think they're two different songs that sound similar. the green brothers' message is "what kind of example are you being if you've been doing drugs and stuff?" while general platt is simply saying "you look like a fool with your pants on the ground."
and also as time goes on it's hard to come up with your own completely original lyrics. you think you've got something original and then you hear a song or read a book that has the same words as you wrote, so i say don't be quick to judge.

well i think the pants on the ground song is more upbeat and more of a earworm…if u know what i mean.besides the pocket on the floor version does not have the same wording.i have not heard ones that they say the gold in the mouth…lol.just a opinion from germany.the song made it all the way over here and its gonna be a hit….

I agree both songs have the same message. But to say it is a rip off is just plain silly! I like both versions.GO GENERAL PLATT AND THE GREEN BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS The two versions are two totally different styles.

Really???? Songs have the same kind of message and wording all the time. If one has success and the other one doesn't, that's just the way it is. That's show biz. If you want to be a part of it you must accept it, the public are finicky!
