The Darkness Is Reuniting?

The Darkness is reuniting — or so they say. According to The Sun, Justin and Dan Hawkins are currently demoing new material for a possible followup to One Way Ticket to Hell… and Back, the band’s last album before Justin said so long.

The Sun reports that if the new material is to the label staff’s liking then there will be an attempt to reunite The Darkness. However, for the last three hours or so, Justin has been sending messages via twitter denying all of these “reform” rumors:

if we ever did reform, it wouldn’t be because some record executives consider if a viable proposition. It would be just for the HALIBUT.

So they are or they aren’t? This is confusing. It would be cool to see the band come together again with a new record and all. Late in 2008 there were rumors of the band reuniting at the Dubai Desert Rocks Festival, but those were all false. So what do you say about Dan’s performance with Justin’s new band Hot Leg last year? I bet a lot of you had high hopes.

It’s hard to say if the rumors are true or not because we have a reliable UK source telling us one thing and a former-member of the band denying everything. Let’s remember that the band didn’t want to break-up, they even attempted to keep the band going after Justin left them in 2006 after completing rehab. The members left formed, Stone Gods and have been going at it ever since.
