Pete Doherty is going back to the jailhouse, except this time it won’t be for bringing heroin into a U.K. courtroom. This time the former Libertines band member will be questioned by the police about the death of his ex-girlfriend and Goldsmith heiress, Robin Whitehead.

The Sun reports that 27-year-old Whitehead was found dead in a flat in East London. A friend of Doherty told the newspaper:

“Peter has been at the flat on Saturday night and left a lot of drugs behind rather than take them with him, because he’s such an easy target for the police to search. Robin has been using heroin and crack cocaine. She also took some Valium to get to sleep and never woke up.”

Doherty’s best friend Peter ‘Wolfman’ Wolfe (Wolfman and the Side-Effects) was the one who found Whitehead’s body :

“On Saturday we were up late. We just fell asleep. She had her own room and bed made up. I suppose I went to give her coffee about four in the afternoon. She was not responding and I tried to wake her up. I thought maybe she needed to sleep on. I let her sleep and some time later, there she was – that’s when I called the ambulance.”

Wolfe denies that Doherty’s presence at the flat the night before. He also denies that Whitehead had a drug problem and claims that the strongest thing they took on Saturday night was tea. Wolfe has been a heroin addict for more than 10-years, and even though Doherty has been in and out of rehab, it doesn’t help that just this week he was carrying heroin with him. He’s got a record for recklessness.
