VV Brown At Bardot: Concert Review and Photos
By Seraphina L.VV Brown made such a fantastic impression on us here at BeatCrave with her Spaceland show on Friday that we chose to go see her the next night at Bardot. Bardot, a Hollywood hot spot just above The Avalon, served as a plush and sophisticated atmosphere. It couldn’t have been more different from Spaceland, the beloved hipster, Monday residency and PBR guzzling venue. However, we expected VV Brown to give a performance with as much power as the night before no matter what venue she was in.
It turns out she gave us more than we expected. Brown gave even more of a electrifying performance on Saturday night. Perhaps it was because she felt she wanted prove she could even get a crowd of posh loungers to move. Perhaps it was because it was well past midnight and she was already buzzing. Perhaps she was loving the intimacy with her audience, as her stage was on the same level, and the fact that she and her instruments began to intertwine with us as her set grew stronger.
Whatever it was, it was a phenomenal show. Her vocal lines had more punch. She was able to play to a crowd of all levels (literally) and her voice rang out with power on songs such as “Shark In The Water.” Even her cover of Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” poured out with more emotion. VV Brown went past the cute hair and former modeling career as she sang with tasteful soul and gumption.
