Vanaprasta: BeatCrave Fav
By Brian McConnellWith a blend of that classic rock vibe a depth of soul and the necessary “fresh” element of that which folks are still referring to as experimental, Vanaprasta is a solid group of Silverlake guys who’ve band together to form one impressive…well, band. While there is a certain Beach Boy undertone to their sound along with a healthy dose of other iconic influences, Vanaprasta pushes their sound past familiarity and into a dream-like space of originality.
As they work diligently on their first LP, these SoCal boys have still managed to find the time to provide their quickly growing fan base with some tantalizing music in the form of their upcoming EP, “Forming the Shapes” and some great live local performances. For those who cannot wait until the release of their EP (March 2, 2010) and aren’t able to catch a live show, we at BeatCrave are excited to induct Vanaprasta into our BeatCrave Fav series and share this great group with you, our ever loyal reader.
