Frances Bean Cobain to duet with Amanda Palmer, Weird Al, and more
By Travis Woods
Like a sci-fi plot in which multiple alternate universes all collide upon a single point, Evelyn Evelyn (the side project of Dresden Dolls’ Amanda Palmer with Seattle musician Jason Webley) has crafted a song in which a seemingly random host of pop culture forces find themselves rubbing elbows and egos, including Frances Bean Cobain.
NME confirms that a track from Evelyn Evelyn’s self-titled debut LP (out March 30 on Eleven Records) entitled “My Space,” features the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love singing and performing with (deep breath) My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, Weird Al Yankovic, Andrew W.K., Tegan & Sara, comedian Margaret Cho, author Neil Gaiman (!), Franz Nicolay (ex-Hold Steady keyboardist), comedian Eugene Mirman and members of Mindless Self Indulgence, among others. Whew.
No word yet as to whether or not Eleven Records will offer refunds to those customers whose heads explode from the sheer inexplicability of said lineup; we’ll keep you updated once we round up all the pesky flying pigs around the office.
