John Mayer Gets Explicit On Sex and Racism In Playboy Interview
By Seraphina L.If you’re an avid Twitter user, you have may have noticed John Mayer‘s name as one of the trending topics today. Mayer, a musician who has been notorious for being some sort of womanizer and having dated celebrities such as Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston, has been a favorite subject for the tabloids over the past year or so. Although his latest album, Battle Studies, shot up to #1 because of his vehement argument on how his music should speak more than his personal life the media tries to cling on to, it seems that Mayer has created the most recent controversy all by himself, if not on purpose as well.
John Mayer recently took part in an interview with Playboy Magazine where he dished out more than necessary details for most of his fans. Although, many were aware of Mayer’s life take on sexuality and his knack for stating his mind, the musician gave us unexpectedly graphic details of his relationships with Simpson and Aniston as well as a display of his blatant thoughts on racism. Although we shouldn’t be too surprised Mayer went all out with a magazine whose main subject is sexuality, we are a bit surprised with the amount of inconsideration when it came to his language, specifically, about women and race. Mayer is far from being a prude, but we also feel as if he’s enjoying the attention quite a bit.
On his relationship with Simpson:
“That girl is like crack cocaine to me. Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm. Did you ever say, ‘I want to quit my life and just f—ing snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f–k you, I would start selling all my s–t just to keep f—ing you.’”
He was a bit more tame when it came to talking about his relationship with Aniston by saying he would never write a song to merely stick it to an ex. However, he did go on to boast about this sexual encounters with various women in specific details. How many girls has Mayer been with since Aniston?
“…four or five. No more. But even if I said 12, that’s a reasonable number. So is 15. Here’s the thing: I get less a– now than I did when I was in a local band. Because now I don’t like jumping through hoops [...] there have probably been days when I saw 300 vaginas before I got out of bed.”
As if he didn’t already turn women into numbers, he goes on to differentiate the women in his fan base who are African American and Caucasian:
“I am a very…I’m just very. V-E-R-Y. And if you can’t handle very, then I’m a douche bag. But I think the world needs a little very. That’s why black people love me [...] Someone asked me the other day, ‘What does it feel like now to have a hood pass? And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a n—-r pass. Why are you pulling a punch and calling it a hood pass if you really have a hood pass? But I said, ‘I can’t have a hood pass. I’ve never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, ‘We’re full [...] My d–k is sort of like a white supremacist. I’ve got a Benetton heart and a f—in David Duke cock. I’m going to start dating separately from my d–k.”
Disgusting and derogatory, to say the least. We are so amazed at Mayer’s ability to be so blatant with his words, we find it hard to believe this is the same guy who put out Room For Squares. Just because Playboy Magazine is a publication where one is allowed to say these thoughts, it doesn’t necessarily mean he is required to.
He can be sure the media will trailing his behind for quite a while. This incident is worse than anything the tabloids have said about Mayer because he’s the one who’s truly responsible for putting it all out.
What do you think of John Mayer and his comments in this Playboy interview? Does he really want the attention or is he just really a jerk?
