A.A. Bondy: BeatCrave Fav
By Winnie JaingIf you haven’t heard of A.A. Bondy yet, you’re missing out. The solo folk singer, real name Scott Bondy, uses A.A. as a shortened version of Auguste Arthur – his birth name. Makes you wonder how Scott came about, doesn’t it? Nonetheless, Scott’s name isn’t what we’re interested in – it’s his music!
AA Bondy is a folk/alternative artist hailing from Birmingham, Alabama. His debut album, American Hearts, was recorded onto an old tape 8 rack in an old farmer’s barn and released in 2007. He must have done something right though, because he was lucky enough to play last year’s Sasquatch Festival and Bonnaroo as well. Now signed to Fat Possum Records, Bondy has recently released his second album, When the Devil’s Loose, released September 2009.
Bondy finds inspiration in bacon, horses, lightning, mortorcycles and claims he needs no heroes anymore because he can do just fine without them. Check out AA Bondy in our BeatCrave Fav series below, and let us know what you think!
