Lady Gaga Promotes Designer Condoms Lady Gaga Promotes Designer Condoms

Continuing with Lady Gaga Week here at BeatCrave, now comes word that the pop star is working with designer Jeremy Scott to let her fans know that they should wear condoms — especially ones designed by Scott in association with Proper Attire.

The designer condoms just made their debut at Scott’s Fall 2010 New York Fashion Week show.

“It’s not complicated, just a fashion statement,” Lady Gaga said in a press release. “Everybody wrap it up with Jeremy Scott for Proper Attire condoms.”

The condoms come in three varieties (studded, ribbed and sheer) and three colors: electric-orange, pink and green animal prints. Because nothing says hot, safe protected sex like an electric-orange ribbed condom endorsed by a freaky pop star whose sings stuff like “Let’s have some fun, this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick.”

“As a fashion designer, so much we make is seen as frivolous, and being asked to design prints for Proper Attire packaging to help promote safer sex practices reminds me of how fashion can still make a statement,” Scott said.

Lady Gaga has already teamed up with pop music icon Cyndi Lauper and VIVA Mac for global AIDS/HIV awareness. The condom support seems like a natural progression in Gaga’s support for such good causes.

You can buy the condoms at Proper Attire and Opening Ceremony. All proceeds from sales will benefit Planned Parenthood.

Hard to believe its take this long for Gaga to get into the condom business. When Lady Gaga tells you to wrap that thing – you do it!
