Jackson 5 Reunion Tour Will Have Janet Jackson Replace Michael
By Seraphina L.June 2009 was a very sad day when the world lost one of its biggest pop music legends in music. After Micheal Jackson‘s death, the Jackson 5 has gotten together for reality show that delved into the after shock of losing their brother and the meaning of family. However, the Jackson 5 had been talking about a reunion tour long before they tragically lost their brother. Although Michael Jackson had previously said no to the reunion, it seems like the brothers no longer want to put the reunion on tour as they feel it would be a great way to honor him.
Sister, and pop star in her own right, Janet Jackson was originally slated to serve as an opener for her brothers’ reunion tour but it has now been reported that she will be stepping in to take Michael’s place.
According to our friends over at Consequence of Sound (via Stuff.co.nz and Canoe.ca), both Jermaine and Janet are especially excited about this tour. Jermaine has confirmed it by stating:
“Janet will be joining us. We’re all talking about it now. She has never played with us before so that will be very special. She definitely wants to do it. We had a conference call and Janet has agreed to join us on tour.”
Janet has also explained why Michael may have hesitated before and how much it will mean to join her brothers on stage now:
“I know it’s been kind of tough for Mike. Maybe he just wants to continue to be a solo artist and if that’s what he wants, you have to respect his wishes. But what an impact it (a reunion) would have on the world. (I’d) be the first in line to buy a ticket.”
We have no doubt that people will be lining up to buy tickets as well. Honestly, it would mean more to fans to see his family honoring him instead of other musicians who are paid to do it (hence the cancellation of the Michael Jackson Tribute concert in London). Jermaine Jackson has also hinted that they would be using the same stage their brother was using for the “This Is It” tour and film.
Will you be buying tickets to the Jackson 5 reunion tour now that Janet will be a part of it?

Hummm…speaking of Mikey in the present tense again. Please explain to me how Mike would continue to be a solo artist if he died? Oh, you mean up in Heaven! Janet, you are the best, girl! I have been just as much of a fan of yours as I have of Mikey. I would LOVE to see you up there with your brothers. You certainly earned that right and we love you for it!

Who cares about the Jacksons without Micheal? I definitly would not buy a ticket to see these has-been brothers. There was a reason why Micheal didn't want to tour with them.

No I would never buy a ticket. Michael's brothers still trying to make a living off of him. Even in death. I think its disgusting.

They must have tapped into my brainwave frequency. While watching the A&E Jacksons mini-series, it was painfully obvious to me that the brothers HAD to replace Michael if they intended to tour as a group. And, as fond of them as I am, NONE of the brothers have the talent or charisma to fill Michael's shoes. The only family member who comes close IS Janet.
I disagree with those who say the brothers are "living off" Michael. Michael Jackson was NOT the Jackson 5 by himself. J5 as a group existed years before Michael went solo; the remaining brothers have every right to continue performing under the J5 banner. The Temptations, The Miracles, The Supremes and many other acts continued…or TRIED to continue following the departure of lead singers or other prominent members. The Temptations have undergone so many incarnations that it's unrecognizable from the group that emerged in the 60s.
So while I would't buy tickets to either a Jackson 5 or a Janet Jackson concert as seperate entities, I look forward to attending a J5 featuring Janet Jackson show.
I think Michael would approve.

I am a purest; I could not support this but I wish them luck. I have seen the Jacksons live 3 times; Michael was always the star. Michael cannot be replaced.

I think Janet should tour alone…No offence to the guys ; but their fans are now moms and dads who don't have time to go to concerts. Janet is still current…You do the tour Janet…If you want your brothers to do a cameo that would be fine; but I wouldnot carry them….I think they may be using you…
Love,

I absolutely love how they talk about Michael in present tense, I mean we all know he's still alive and I don't mean in our hearts I mean physically. He IS alive. The reason Michael doesn't want to tour with his brothers is because when he comes out of hiding this summer he's doing his OWN world tour. You ask how is that possible, he couldn't even do this is it? No see, you have it all wrong "This is it" was NEVER a tour, I repeat NEVER. It was always meant to be a movie, he could have easily made it a tour if he wanted to but, he has his own plan. A plan better than this is it, he is perfectly healthy and off the drugs. I need you all to listen to me! I'm really sorry about this but you have to forgive me for what I've done. Your Michael will be back this summer! See you guys soon! God bless you all!

I'm 13 years old and this is what i have to say…
I know Michael is obviously, the best superstar to ever land on this planet
But a lot of people are being very harsh on the rest of the Jacksons.
2300 Jackson Street is a 1989 album by the Jacksons whhere Michael features in only one song, and it is an amazing album with just Jermaine, Randy, Jackie, Marlon and Tito, infact, 2 of my fave songs are on there. Also, One More Chance off the Victory album in 1984 is amazing, that is sung by Randy alone, also Body, Wait, Torture, The Hurt and We Can Change The World have alternate lead vocalists and they are all amazing, so…back to my point, The Jacksons are not crap without Michael, they are the most talented family in the world, give them a break…I'm going! xxxxx

Tito Jackson made a comment once about why he doesn't like to read gossip news because that's all it is BULLSHIT! All these people with negaitive comments about the Jackson family need to get a life and stop feeding into this shit. Michael is gone and him and his brothers will never be replaced!
