Ok Go New Ok Go Music Video: This Too Shall Pass

Today at 4pm PST, Ok Go premiered their new video for “This Too Shall Pass” at www.ustream.tv/okgo. The debut was followed by a live chat with the band’s lead vocalist Damian Kulash where he interacted with fans from all over. After the Ustream premiere, the video was made available on the group’s official YouTube page, but you can view it right here…

Grammy Award winners Ok Go is made up of Kulash (vocals and guitar), Tim Nordwind (bass guitar and backing vocalist), Dan Konopka (drums and percussion), and Andy Ross (keyboards, guitar and backing vocals). The video for “This Too Shall Pass” features a two-story Rube Goldberg machine that the band spent four months building with SynnLabs, a team of creative engineers from NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

It’s a really interesting creation that keeps you engaged with its maze-like design from the very beginning to the end of the video. The song itself has a fun, upbeat pace but during the video your focus is on the “machine” at all times, which overpowers anything the band is saying or doing.

You can check it out for yourself…

What do you think of the video for “This Too Shall Pass” from Ok Go? Do you think the machine is distracting?
