Muse To Play Club Show At South By Southwest

Good news lucky people attending this year’s South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX: Billboard reports that Muse are set play a club show at Stubb’s on Saturday (March 20).

The show hasn’t been officially confirmed, but c’mon! – they are so playing.

Should the Muse-at-Stubbs gig go off, and let’s assume it will, it’s quite a contrast between band and venue. Here you have famed alt.-rock gods Muse who play massive arenas dropping in on the famous Barbecue restaurant with live music that just might be the place to be during SXSW – and arguably the other 360 days of the year when you want food, fun and good tunes while in Austin.

That said, because Muse is such a big-time, popular act, and because it’s quite a coup to have Muse playing in town for the festival – that can only mean there is going to be one helluva line to get into Stubb’s that night!

So that part is annoying. But Muse at Stubb’s could very well be a big highlight for the festival.

A diverse collection of artists such as Motörhead, Spoon, Band of Horses, Tom Morello’s Street Sweeper Social Club and Jakob Dylan w/ Neko Case highlight a list of 1500-plus bands and musicians ready to perform during the annual five-night festival; the annual bacchanal runs from Mar. 17-21.

The Billboard story also mentions that Ludacris and Black Eyed Peas are on the ‘rumored to play SXSW’ list.

Muse just wrapped a sold out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City last Friday.
