Poll What Do You Think Of MGMTs New Song Flash Delirium Poll: What Do You Think Of MGMTs New Song Flash Delirium?

Indie or mainstream music fan, it’s safe to assume that mostly everyone liked what they heard off of MGMT‘s Oracular Spectacular which was released way back in 2007. Instant hits such as ‘Time To Pretend,” “Kids,” and “Electric Feel” solidified the Brooklyn duo as the ultimate hipsters who loved to sing in falsetto and dance with half-naked people in the forest. Eccentric with incredibly strong pop melodies is what we all fell for, to say the least.

Now, their follow-up album Congratulations is just around the corner with an official release date of April 13. We’ve all seen the artwork (above) and have hashed out our reactions to one another. (Our thoughts: Cousins of Sonic the Hedgehog/Stimpy tweaking on narcotics while they surf a massive wave.) However, if you were shocked to find the cover art so different and more “cowabunga”-like than their last album’s, just wait until you hear their new single, “Flash Delirum.”

Although there are still hints of the indie psychedelia MGMT has personified throughout the years, the song which is 4:16 minutes long kind of goes down the similar path of Prince’s new song where every genre you could ever imagine is crammed into one listen. There are the expected electro elements and the lo-fi glory moments, but there’s also some major rock and roll going on that kind of surprise you towards the end. The pop you hear isn’t the usual pop you hear from the duo either.

You can download and listen to “Flash Delirium” on their official website for FREE. Afterward, make sure you let us know what you think of it by voting in the poll below!
