Miley Cyrus Taking A Hiatus From Music
By Travis Woods
Hot on the heels of prefiguring the End of All Things by collaborating with Poison’s Bret Michaels on a cover of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” teen queen and all-around sonic abomination Miley Cyrus told Teen Vogue that she’ll be taking a break from music after the release of her currently untitled next album later this year. Following the news, suicide hotlines noted a 50% decrease in callers, while Israel and Hamas signed historic peace accords.
According to MTV UK, Cyrus seems to feel uninspired with her current music – which is understandable, as I’m sure anyone would feel a slight decrease in creativity and artistic inspiration in the time between the release of the Hannah Montana 2 and Hannah Montana 3 soundtracks.
“The more I make music that doesn’t truly inspire me, the more I feel like I’m blending in with everyone else. So after this next album, I’m taking some time off.”
There is no word yet if this move on Cyrus’ part will signal a musical maturation for the young singer and actress, or if the cruel Fates simply decided to give us all a break for once. Upon hearing the news, her father Billy Ray was noted to have stopped chanting “Ch-ching, ch-ching, ch-ching!” for hours on end and collapsed into a pool of his own achy breaky tears.
