Day two of the SXSW festival didn’t start until about 3pm for me thanks to a late night taco spot and plenty of free drinks to go around. I caught the tail end of The Low Anthem at the Paste party before moving outside to see Black Prairie. Next up was Crystal Fighters who put on one hell of an energetic show. More on that interesting event to follow…

Unfortunately during the Crystal Fighters’ performance, all the light in the venue was coming through open doors and windows that the band were playing in front of. Needless to say, it was tough to grab their energy with such poor lighting. After that, a quick stop at Hype Machine’s Lose Control 2 for Admiral Radley and then it was off to the Rolling Stone’s party to catch Challenger.

After eating at Jaime’s and running into Andrew W. K. who was also eating there, I stepped in for the last few songs of Henry Clay People at Club de Ville. After a little more wandering around and careful assessment of the night’s schedule, we decided to take on the Crystal Method and Steve Aoki who were playing Elysium. While the guys in Crystal Method may be nearing their mid-life crisis’, they can still hold it down on the 1′s and 2′s.

Check out the photos from my latest SXSW escapades…
