Bob Dylan To Headline Hop Farm Festival
By Travis Woods
As more and more summer music festivals announce their lineups (and Lollapalooza? Please, please, please don’t make Green Day and Lada Gaga headliners), Kent, England’s three-year-old “No sponsorship/ No branding” Hop Farms festival just snagged a Major—NME reports that none other than rock ‘n roll bard Bob Dylan will headline the Saturday, July 3rd event. And while some may carp that Dylan’s a little too far on the other side of fifty to be the tentpole act of a rock festival, c’mon—this is the guy who wrote “Like a Rolling Stone”!
Dylan is currently in the 22nd year of his Never Ending Tour, which began on July 7, 1988.
The lineup has yet to be completely fleshed out, but it also includes Mumford & Sons, Seasick Steve, Pete Doherty, and Laura Marling. Now, if we can just get them to somehow snag Green Day and Lady Gaga, and then maybe organize some kind of passport snag to keep them on the other side of the pond until at least the final night of Lollapalooza on August 8th, all of us back here in the States would be really, really grateful.
What do you think? Would you like to see Dylan headline an American festival as well?
