MGMT Music Video: Flash Delirium
By Seraphina L.MGMT has always been eccentric in their own way, but with their ever-popular album Oracular Spectacular we welcomed them with open arms with whatever songwriting idea they had. Now, however, we are a bit perplexed with their latest album, Congratulations. It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for new material – although it’s only really been three years – but we can’t help but feel different about their new approach with this album. You can stream over at their website in its entirety.
You all also told us that you were down with the new single, “Flash Delirium,” which has unexpected choppiness in terms of genres; so maybe you’ll like the video that goes along with it as well.
As much as the song doesn’t make much sense to us, (it did initially start out as a joke between the band members), the video equally doesn’t make as much sense. The two core members, Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden, start out in a car ride where the two of them look a little nervous and sure enough the fancy abode they enter has its tricks up its sleeve. The people who welcome them at the mansion tend to do illogical things that ironically match the tone of the song, but it gets really creepy when you discover one of them has a secret. When that secret is unveiled, all hell breaks loose.
You can watch the video for “Flash Delirium” which is also streaming in its entirety at the official MGMT website. Make sure to let us know what you think about it after watching it!
What do you think of MGMT’s “Flash Delirium” video? Is it insane? It is perfect?
