Phish To Cover Rolling Stones on Jimmy Fallon
By Laura Aguirre
Jimmy Fallon is throwing a Rolling Stones‘ tribute and it’s going to be awesome! During the week of May 10th, the late night host will celebrate the June reissue of Exile On Main Street by rounding up different artists and having them cover classic songs from the album each night. The list of acts has yet to be released, but according to Billboard, Phish is one of the few who made it. This will be Phish’s first television performance since reforming in 2009!
Phish is a great selection for Fallon’s Rolling Stone tribute. Last Halloween, the jam-band performed Exile during their Festival 8 in Indio, California and they’ll release the whole event as a 3D film on April 30th. There’s also a rumor going around that Fallon has invited a Rolling Stone member to take part in this whole extravaganza:
“The other person that might be here rhymes with Keith Richards. But I can’t say his name.”
This ought to be interesting. We’ll keep you updated as the list of performers come in. Phish is scheduled to perform on May 13th of that week, ’til then here’s their 3D trailer…
Are you excited for this event? Who else do you think will participate?
